Burns’ Family Neighborhood Markets Celebrates the Grand Opening of the new ShopRite of Drexeline

Drexel Hill, PA – (September 1, 2023) – Burns’ Family Neighborhood Markets, the family-owned and operated Delaware Valley-based company, celebrated the grand opening of the new ShopRite of Drexeline with store associates and community leaders. A ribbon cutting ceremony on September 1 marked the occasion, followed immediately by doors opening to an excited and eager crowd.

The 72,000 square-foot ShopRite of Drexeline is operated by the Burns family, which has more than 40 years of experience in the supermarket business in the Delaware Valley. The family’s newest ShopRite store serves as the anchor tenant of the Drexeline Town Center, replacing their former store located at 5000 State Road in Drexel Hill, PA. The new ShopRite of Drexeline is a state-of-the-art supermarket featuring a spacious store format, enhanced product selection and variety, and new conveniences for customers to enjoy. The expansive parking lot also provides customers with ample parking space.

Along with the complete redevelopment of the shopping center, the supermarket was designed to meet the highest industry standards. Customers can expect a superior shopping experience with a wide variety of freshly prepared home style hot entrees, sushi, Chinese cuisine, brick oven pizza, rotisserie chicken and made-to-order hoagies and sandwiches. Customers will also find an in-store bakery, a meat department featuring the area’s finest butchers, a seafood department with the largest local selection of fresh seafood, a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and local produce, a floral shop, full service deli department including gourmet and grab-and-go items and an expansive beer and wine department. Shoppers can also enjoy the eat-in café on the second floor featuring views of the spacious store, and a dedicated covered drive-through canopy offers quick and easy curbside pick-up for online shoppers.

The ShopRite of Drexeline also features Fresh to Table, an innovative store-within-a-store experience where customers can find fresh, on-trend foods, easy to prepare ingredients and meal solutions in a variety of grab-and-go formats. Fresh to Table reinvents traditional produce and fresh food departments, providing additional high-quality options for shoppers looking for a one-stop shop experience.

“We are proud to welcome our customers to the beautiful new ShopRite of Drexeline,” said Patrick J. Burns, president and CEO of Burns’ Family Neighborhood Markets. “This store demonstrates our family’s continued commitment to serving the community and providing top-tier value, variety and quality – along with exciting new store features such as wider aisles, more parking and bigger savings with the same great staff. We thank our customers for their patience and patronage as we built this brand new store for the community.”

The store debuts a fresh and modern design, and best-in-class aesthetic that carries through other ShopRite brand touchpoints such as digital platforms, circulars and store signage.

The new ShopRite of Drexeline is now open daily from 6 am to midnight, located at 5000 State Road in Drexel Hill, PA, and employs approximately 250 full- and part-time workers.
