New York Football Legend Wayne Chrebet “Helps Bag Hunger” at ShopRite Of Hazlet

Community leaders came together recently to help bag groceries at ShopRite stores as part of ShopRite’s annual Help Bag Hunger Day.

That’s when community leaders and local celebrity baggers such as mayors, council people, athletes, police and firefighters pitch in and help raise awareness around the issue of food insecurity by bagging groceries at their local ShopRite stores. ShopRite stores across New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland participate in Help Bag Hunger Day.

In addition to Chrebet’s Sept. 19 appearance at the ShopRite of Hazlet, several professional football players also joined the Help Bag Hunger team this year. Reigning world champion running back Jay Ajayi, pictured below, bagged groceries and greeted customers at the ShopRite of Bridge and Harbison in Philadelpia. Sterling Shepard, the Big Blue wide receiver, joined the team at the ShopRite of Hoboken, and rookie offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr., a Charm City pro football player, visited the ShopRite of Timonium in Maryland.
