ShopRite Associate Brings Joy to Customers

April 06, 2020

Leticia White has fans at the ShopRite of Paramus where she has worked for the last two decades.

She knows her customers and they know her, often looking for her when they go to the store to do their grocery shopping. Leticia normally coordinates in-store marketing and hosts product demonstrations, even occasionally singing a tune or dressing up for a holiday.

But these are not normal times and today she may greet customers at a socially acceptable distance due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

She can sense the anxiousness among friends and customers and wanted to lighten the mood, so she took to the store's Facebook page to sing an appropriate song -- : “Don’t Stand So Close To Me,” by The Police.
The Star-Ledger took notice and ran a story about Leticia and her ability to bring joy to her customers during a dark time.

“It makes me feel like coming to work is appreciated," Leticia told The Star-Ledger. “I’m helping. Everybody sees it and it’s a good thing. Because that’s what we need, I believe."

The Paterson resident has worked at the Paramus ShopRite since the store opened, starting as a cashier. “I know a lot of people by name," she said of her customers.

And we are glad we know Leticia and she’s part of our ShopRite team.

Thanks for all you do, Leticia!
