ShopRite of Paramus Unveils New Electrify America Fast Charging Station

Local officials and store leadership celebrate new EV charging option for the community

PARAMUS, NJ (March 24, 2026) – ShopRite of Paramus hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony March 24 to celebrate the opening of a new Electrify America fast charging station in the store’s parking lot at 224 Rt. 4 East. The new station features six Hyper-Fast chargers, each capable of delivering up to 350kW.

Paramus Mayor Christopher DiPiazza joined store associates and members of the Glass family, owners and operators of the ShopRite of Paramus, to mark the occasion.

“As a familyowned business, we’re committed to supporting our community and embracing sustainable solutions that benefit our customers. Hosting an Electrify America fast charging station underscores our focus on innovation, convenience, and the evolving needs of the people we serve,” said Terry Glass, Co-CEO and Co-President of Glass Gardens, Inc.

The installation is part of a broader effort by the New Jersey-based, retailer-owned supermarket cooperative Wakefern Food Corp. to expand electric vehicle charging across ShopRite locations and strengthen sustainable infrastructure in local communities. A Wakefern Member, the Glass family, through its Glass Gardens, Inc., has served North Jersey residents for more than 70 years.

ShopRite continues to expand its electric vehicle charging infrastructure across store locations as cooperative members identify new sites for the state-of-the-art charging stations. The efforts reflect ShopRite’s commitment to promoting sustainable practices and supporting customers who drive electric vehicles.

“We’re excited to continue our collaboration with ShopRite and expand access to convenient and fast EV charging in New Jersey,” said Anthony Lambkin, vice president of operations at Electrify America. “The new charging station in Paramus is our third ShopRite location in the state, along with our stations at the Flemington and Moorestown supermarkets. We have eight additional charging stations planned for ShopRite locations across New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania this year, and look forward to bringing this important amenity to ShopRite customers.”
