ShopRite of New City Celebrates Major Renovation

Inserra Supermarkets Hosts Ribbon Cutting with Special Guests, Store Samplings and Community Festivities
New City, NY (February 24, 2025) – Inserra Supermarkets Inc., a family-owned and operated New Jersey-based company, celebrated the grand reopening of its newly remodeled ShopRite of New City with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by chairman and CEO Lawrence Inserra Jr., alongside Inserra family members, local community leaders and special guests. The event marked the completion of a comprehensive remodel that includes expanded store departments, larger selections of fresh-prepared meals and state-of-the-art, energy-efficient upgrades.
The celebration continued throughout the day, featuring sample stations throughout the store and a special appearance by former professional football player Shaun O’Hara, who met with fans and signed autographs.
The grand reopening festivities continued throughout the weekend, offering shoppers additional opportunities to explore the remodeled store and sample featured products. Vendor mascots, including the Flowers Foods Wonder Bread mascot and the Bimbo Bakery Bear mascot, also made appearances.

“The newly renovated ShopRite of New City reflects our ongoing commitment to provide New City customers with an exceptional shopping experience,” said Lawrence Inserra Jr., chairman and CEO of Inserra Supermarkets Inc. “We are proud to offer expanded selections of fresh and locally sourced foods, specialty items and convenient meal solutions. We appreciate the continued support of our customers and are excited to welcome them into this beautiful new space.”
New City shoppers love the expanded produce, dairy, frozen and Kosher departments, as well as a full-service bakery featuring fresh, store-made bread, cakes and pastries. The store continues to highlight signature Inserra Supermarkets favorites, including Patsy’s Butcher Shop, known for high-quality meats, and Antoinette’s Kitchen, which features hot bar selections and fresh-prepared meals. ShopRite’s popular Fresh to Table section provides convenient meal solutions with grab-and-go, ready-to-cook and ready-to-heat options. The store also incorporates new energy-efficient equipment, reinforcing Inserra’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Originally opened in 1980, the ShopRite of New City has remained a trusted community staple. The extensive remodel, which began last summer, ensures that customers can continue to enjoy a modern, efficient and customer-focused shopping experience.
