General Mills Donates $50,000 to ShopRite Partners In Caring
to support the important organizations that are on the front lines of fighting hunger in our communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Wakefern Food Corp. and ShopRite have a long history of addressing food insecurity by supporting regional food banks and those in need. The company’s ShopRite Partners In Caring Fund, a year-round hunger-fighting initiative, works closely with vendor partners such as General Mills to raise awareness and funds to fight hunger.
Last month, Wakefern and its cooperative members – who own and operate supermarkets across nine states – announced a $1 million dollar donation to regional food banks to help meet the dramatic increase in demand for food and essentials during the COVID-19 pandemic.The donation was divided among 30 food banks across the nine-state trading area of supermarket banners ShopRite, Price Rite Marketplace and The Fresh Grocer.
ShopRite Partners In Caring has donated $50 million to more than 2,200 charities over the last two decades.
