ShopRite Hosts Grand Opening at New Store in Port Jefferson, NY

Keasbey, NJ (March 8, 2019) – ShopRite today announced the opening of its newest store, a state-of-the-art, full- service supermarket in Port Jefferson, NY.

Located at 5145 Nesconset Highway in Port Jefferson Station, the 68,000-square-foot supermarket will be operated by the Gallagher family. To celebrate the store opening, the family will join ShopRite Partners In Caring, ShopRite’s community-based, hunger-fighting initiative, in making a donation to Long Island Cares food bank. The family also presented a check for $1,000 to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Rocky Point Post during a ribbon cutting ceremony at the store.

The existing retail space was completely renovated to make way for a new ShopRite with a convenient shopping format. The store was outfitted with the latest energy-saving and sustainable technologies, including LED lighting and environmentally-friendly, energy efficient refrigerant systems. The parking lot was refreshed with newly installed landscaping and lighting. The store will employ approximately 250 people, many of them local residents.

An on-staff, registered dietitian will provide free nutrition and wellness counseling to customers, associates and the community, and the new store will also offer a large selection of organic, local and gluten-free foods and fresh produce at ShopRite’s low, everyday prices. Expanded Gluten-free options are available in grocery, bakery and the frozen aisle, and the store also offers a refrigerated dairy-free section.

Visitors to the store will find favorite ShopRite departments such as the from-scratch bake shop with special occasion cakes and freshly made bread; meat department with trained butchers; full- service seafood department with daily, fresh catch deliveries; a floral shop; full-service deli with Boar’s Head products and prepared foods department with grab-and-go items, freshly prepared hot entrees and a salad bars. The new ShopRite in Port Jefferson will also offer a large selection of organic, local and gluten-free foods and fresh produce at ShopRite’s low, everyday prices.

The ShopRite of Port Jefferson will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
