McMenamin Family ShopRite Names Sean McMenamin President
PHILADELPHIA, PA. (August 8, 2014) – McMenamin Family ShopRite announced today that it has named Sean McMenamin president of the company.
McMenamin, age 36, succeeds his father, company founder Rich McMenamin, who remains as chairman of McMenamin Family ShopRite, a family business which owns and operates two ShopRite stores in Philadelphia. Most recently, McMenamin served as VP and General Counsel for the company. He is co-vice chairman of the Sales and Merchandising Committee and the Health and Beauty Care Committee for Wakefern Food Corp. and is a member of the ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc. operating committee.
McMenamin earned his Juris Doctor degree from Temple University and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond. Prior to entering the family business in 2008, McMenamin was a litigation attorney with a concentration in matters involving bankruptcy and corporate restructuring, and debtor/creditor rights.
Rich McMenamin opened the ShopRite of Roosevelt Blvd in Philadelphia and its Kosher on the Blvd operation in 1995 when the company joined Wakefern Food Corp. In 2008, the company opened the ShopRite of Morrell Plaza, also in Philadelphia. Rich sits on the Board of Directors for Wakefern Food Corp., National Grocers Association (NGA), and is Chairman of the Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association (PFMA).
