RICHARD MCMENAMIN ELECTED TO WAKEFERN FOOD CORP. BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Keasbey, NJ (June 3, 2009) – Wakefern Food Corp., the distribution and merchandising arm of ShopRite supermarkets, has announced that Rich McMenamin was elected to its Board of Directors.

Mr. McMenamin, owner and operator of two ShopRite stores in the Philadelphia area — the ShopRite of Roosevelt Boulevard and the ShopRite of Morrell Plaza — was elected to the Board of Directors on May 21, 2009.

He brings four decades of experience in the supermarket business and joined Wakefern Food Corp. in 1995 with the opening of his first ShopRite store at Roosevelt Boulevard.

Prior to Wakefern, Mr. McMenamin started his supermarket career with Acme markets in 1968. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University in 1974 and in 1982, Mr. McMenamin joined A&P (Superfresh) as a store manager. He went on to become a district store manager in 1983 and was promoted to Vice President of Operations in 1990. In 1993, Mr. McMenamin became Group Vice President of 78 Superfresh stores in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
