ShopRite Hosts Boy Scouts

Wakefern Collaborates on Sustainability Initiatives
An associate secures an energy conserving night shade in the produce department at the ShopRite of Milford in Milford, Ct. The store received Grocery Stewardship Certification for incorporating a host of sustainable best practices. More ShopRite stores are doing the same as part of a collaboration with the Manomet Grocery Stewardship program.

Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Institute for Sustainable Enterprise (ISE) proclaimed Wakefern an “outstanding sustainable family-owned business” at its 10th anniversary celebration. Wakefern Community Relations Manager Christine Magyarits accepted the award on behalf of the cooperative.

Wakefern Food Corp. and its cooperative members would like to clarify its position on cage-free eggs. It is our goal to source 100 percent cage-free, fresh eggs for our ShopRite, Price Rite and The Fresh Grocer stores by 2025 based on available supply.

NGA Presents Great American Award to Lorelei Mottese
The National Grocers Association (NGA) is pleased to recognize Lorelei Mottese with NGA's highest award for government relations, the Clarence G. Adamy Great American Award. Wakefern Food Corp. Announces $15.7 Billion in Retail Sales
Wakefern Food Corp. Chairman and CEO Joseph S. Colalillo and President and COO Joe Sheridan addressed Wakefern’s shareholders, store management and staff at the company’s annual shareholder meeting today in East Brunswick, New Jersey. The company reported a record retail sales level of $15.7 billion for the 53-week fiscal year ending October 3, 2015, a 6.7 percent increase from the prior year, and $12.8 billion in Wakefern wholesale sales.
